In conversation: Autumn Equinox

1. Autumn Equinox
September 23, 2024

The Autumn Equinox offers a chance to tune in, and realign with the rhythms of nature. This rare pause in the year, offers the perfect balance of both day and night — reminding us to slow down, and find our own equilibrium.

We would like to share with you some small, intentional steps and practices, rooted in nature to welcome the seasons’s turning.

(1) SLOW WALKING

Walking in nature is one of the simplest ways to connect with the transition of seasons, as it grounds us in the present moment. Take pleasure in the changing colours of the season, and relish the crisp cooler air.

Roll Calor onto pulse points during your walks, for a warm, woody scent in rhythm with nature.

(2) SEASONAL PRODUCE

Markets at this time of year are full of nourishing produce, such as root vegetables, pumpkins, apples, and chestnuts. Some seasonal dishes that we have on repeat during these colder months are - roasted squash drizzled with olive oil; warm root vegetable soups; and baked spiced apples.

(3) GROUNDING RITUALS

Autumn, with its shorter days, invites more restorative self-care practices. We think self-care at its core, is about listening - listening to the subtle changes in our energy, and establishing daily rituals to ground us. Rituals we reach for during fall: morning yoga by an open window; taking deep breaths during a crisp evening walk; and applying scented body oil after a warm bath.

After a long soak rehydrate your skin with our Luce Body Oil - a nourishing blend of hemp seed oil, scented with organic rose and frankincense for deep relaxation.

(4) SEASONAL SOUNDS

Music can be a wonderful backdrop for our daily moments, and sound can promote a sense of connection as we transition into new seasons. We have curated an autumnal playlist for you — a mix to welcome in the new season, from sunrise to sunset. Listen to it here.

As autumn unfolds, we hope - like the equinox itself - you find balance and a renewed connection to nature this fall.
